A brow lift is a procedure to lift up the brow and place it in a more natural, higher, and younger position. It is an ideal procedure if you suffer from a tired or angry look due to sagged down or heavy brows. A brow lift is often combined with other surgeries of the face for a completely refreshed look. When combined with an eyelid correction, the same incision can be used for a brow lift.
There are different techniques to perform a browlift. A discrete incision in the hairline can be used to get access to the deeper structures of the brow to obtain a natural lifting of the brow and lateral forehead. In select cases (especially in men) an incision can be made at the upper border of the brow to reposition the complete brow with a barely noticeable scar. In other cases, a nearly scarless technique is possible as well, which will be discussed during the consultation.
After a brow lift, you can enjoy a fresher and youthful expression with improved vision and less weight on your eyes. A brow lift can be done under local or general anesthesia. The procedure has a limited downtime and requires easy wound care.

Breast cancer has become more than just a health challenge; it is also a psychological and social matter that affects women, families, and society as a whole. In an episode of the program “With Al Hakeem”, Professor Mostafa Hamdi, a Belgian scientist of Syrian origin, revealed the latest developments in breast surgery, modern innovations in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, and his experience in Qatar, as well as his vision for the future of medical aesthetics. He also offered important advice for both patients and doctors. A Professional Journey and Qatari Experience Professor Mostafa Hamdi serves as the Head of the Department of Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium. He also works as a visiting physician at the Surgical Arts Hospital in Qatar, where he trains medical teams in the latest techniques in breast surgery and post-tumor reconstruction to transfer his expertise to Arab doctors. Breast Cancer… A Physical and Psychological Challenge Dr. Hamdi emphasized that breast cancer is not merely a physical disease; it has significant psychological and social impacts. He noted that breast reconstruction after tumor removal improves patients’ mental health. He explained that modern innovations have helped boost patients’ self-confidence. These innovations include high-quality, lightweight silicone implants, with a focus on breast reconstruction as an essential part of comprehensive treatment, thereby also improving patients’ quality of life after treatment. Trends in the World of Cosmetic Surgery Dr. Hamdi explained that the most prominent trends in cosmetic surgery include techniques such as non-surgical injections, the use of robots in precise procedures, and employing artificial intelligence to analyze results before and after surgeries. He added that these tools reduce complications and improve final outcomes. However, Dr. Hamdi warned against being carried away by trends on social media, noting that some patients may request procedures that are unsuitable for their bodies. He stressed that a doctor’s role is not limited to performing the surgery but also includes scientific evaluation, ethical practice, and selecting safe and effective techniques. Professor Mostafa Hamdi’s Innovations in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery Advanced surgical robotic techniques for precise operations that reduce bleeding and complications. Use of artificial intelligence to analyze patients’ images before and after surgery to improve individualized treatment plans. Development of breast-lifting techniques that preserve natural shape safely and sustainably. Lightweight silicone implants that reduce complications by up to 30%. Periodic monitoring of implant health through X-rays or ultrasounds, with selection of qualified doctors adhering to medical standards. Adapting to patients’ requests and social media influences while maintaining ethical and scientific standards. Important Advice Take the time to understand the cosmetic procedure and its risks. Consult more than one doctor for a second opinion. Choose a qualified doctor committed to medical and ethical standards. Evaluate risks and benefits with your doctor. Follow medical instructions after the procedure. Maintain ongoing communication with your doctor to monitor progress. A Vision for the Future of Medical Aesthetics in the Region Dr. Hamdi emphasizes that the future of cosmetic surgery depends on integrating technology with surgical expertise to enhance patient outcomes and reduce risks, with an increasing reliance on robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as the development of safer and more effective implant materials and reconstruction methods. He also emphasizes the importance of continuous training for Arab doctors through specialized scholarships, which support innovation and facilitate the transfer of global expertise, thereby balancing trends with scientific standards to ensure patient health and safety. Hamdi Foundation Supporting Doctors and Patients As part of supporting Arab doctors and the medical sector, the Hamdi Foundation provides support to breast cancer patients and offers training scholarships for doctors, including: Al-Zahrawi Scholarship for Arab Doctors: Supporting the training of Arab doctors in Belgium on the latest cosmetic and reconstructive surgery techniques. Salah Al-Din Scholarship for Syrian Doctors: Providing similar educational opportunities for Syrian doctors and transferring modern expertise. Source: Al Jazeera Mubasher
