Once again, old concepts such as breast lif don’t answer our patients’ needs any more. Prof. Hamdi developed a surgical technique to use a part of the lower breast to move high on the thorax and fixed by mesh and hold the breast on it. Breast volume and projection is also enhanced by adding fat using lipofilling to the upper breast and the decolteé area.

More state of the art concepts…. The inner bra technique

Prof. Hamdi was the founder of the inner bra technique. In this technique a sling is used within the gland to hold the breast to the rib. The breast is nicely projected and women don’t need to wear a bra because the breast is supported by this implanted system.

Especially with breast reduction, Professor Hamdi is the founder of one of the modern concept in Septum-based mammaplasty *.  Breast reduction is a dull term and focus only on reducing of the breast volume. Therefore, we use rather the term mammaplasty which offer to the patient:

• Volume reduction and breast lifting
• Less scars
• Nipple sensation and lactation-ability preservation
• Long term results

Currently, patients’ requests are very specific – and in most cases very different. Some patients wish a severe size reduction. Others prefer a minimal reduction as the lifting is more important to them. Also here, we hold long conversations with the patients in order to explain to them which desires are useful and above all, which are realisable.

We trust in science. Studies show that breast implants with polyurethane foam-coating decrease the frequency of capsule fibrosis (= hardening and deformation of the connective tissue in the breast). The polyurethane-coating also stabilises the implants and prevents their torsion and translocation. This means a strong reduction of the probability of a corrective surgery for our patients. Our clinic is one of the first institutions in Europe who routinely makes use of polyurethane-implants by leading manufacturers during initial surgeries. As a result, we are absolutely familiar with their handling.

The custom-made surgical plan

Our custom-made surgical plan starts with lots of questions: Which surgical technique is the most suitable? Revising, lifting or reducing? Only augmenting or also lifting? Where are the scars? And above all: What is the patient’s wish?

It is important to us that all the patient’s wishes and desires are considered as much as possible. We always make surgical plans matched to every single patient and we never follow a pattern as this is the only way to meet a patient’s expectation maximally. Planning it exactly and individually enables us to attain the best surgical result. But not only our surgical plan, also our team choice is custom-made. The surgical team and the anesthesiologists are chosen carefully.

As for breast reconstruction, fat grafting is an alternative technique to silicone implants for breast augmentation.Breast augmentation with lipofilling is a short procedure is mainly done in one day surgery. Fat is harvested from different parts of the body using liposuction technique and then injected into the breast tissue using small cannulas. More than one surgical session might be required.

In breast lipofilling, fat survival can be better controlled if the BRAVA is applied. The BRAVA is an external bra which was invented by Dr. Khouri from Miami. The BRAVA gently 
expands a woman’s breast tissue. The procedure begins with the patient wearing BRAVA for a two weeks before surgery. Using the BRAVA creates an adequate matrix for fat to be injected later in an outpatient procedure.

Patients who are good candidate for breast augmentation with lipofilling:
Non-smoker patients.

Patients with adequate fat deposits (abdomen, thigh, kniees)
Patients who expect to improve the breast contour mainly the upper part and the cleavage.

The technique enhances breast projection and mainly give one cup more to the patient breast but not more. Patient who desire larger volume are better treated with silicone implants.

Unfortunately, complications in breast surgery are not scarce. We received high number of patients who treated from 4 corners of the world. A standardized approaches to these challenging cases has been used since long years by Professor Hamdi who has become a reference to solve tough problems in breast surgery.

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is a procedure used to treat droopy eyelids. In this procedure, we remove removes droppy skin, muscle, and sometimes fat that may be causing the area around your eyes to sag.

The upper eyelid surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. That means you can go home shortly after the procedure. General anesthesia is only used for some people (such as men with high blood pressure).

The lower lid blepharoplasty usually involves removal of fat, which contributes to the under-eye bags, as well as sometimes removing a small amount of skin. The incision may either be on the inside of the eyelid or on the outside underneath the lower eyelashes. In some people, the lower eyelid may be tightened or secured to the bony skeleton.

Recovery from blepharoplasty is relatively short compared with other types of surgeries. Immediately after the procedure you’ll be moved to a recovery room. You’ll be monitored for side effects and, unless there are any complications, you’ll go home the same day.

What is thigh lift surgery?

Thigh lift surgery reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body.

What is my incision?

Incision patterns vary based on the area or areas to be treated, degree of correction

and patient and surgeon preference.

Inner thigh lift incision

One technique used for a thigh lift places incisions in the groin, extending downward and wrapping around the back of the thigh.

Another technique removes excess skin from the groin down to the knee using an incision along the inseam.

You may also qualify for a minimal incision inner thigh lift that involves an incision only in the groin area. Your plastic surgeon will determine what’s appropriate.

Outer thigh lift incision

Improving the contours of the outer thigh may require an incision extending from the groin around the hip and across the back.

Advanced techniques usually allow incisions to be placed in strategic locations where they can be hidden by most types of clothing and swimsuits. However, incisions may be extensive.

What is an arm lift?

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that:

• Reduces excess sagging skin that droops downward
• Tightens and smoothes the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm
• Reduces localized pockets of fat in the upper arm region

Fluctuations in weight, growing older and heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. This is a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise.

Incision length and pattern during arm lift surgery depend on the amount and location of excess skin to be removed, as well as the best judgment of your plastic surgeon.

Incisions are generally placed on the inside of the arm or on the back of the arm, depending on the surgeon’s preference, and may extend from the underarm (axilla) to just above the elbow. Excess fat may be directly excised or treated with liposuction.

Depending on your specific condition, incisions may be more limited. Then, underlying supportive tissue is tightened and reshaped with internal sutures. Finally, the skin is smoothed over the new contour of your arm.

Once in the operation room, the tissue will be prepared with tumescence-local anesthesia. Subsequently, a vibration- or a suction cannula will be inserted by making little incisions (2-5 mm). Then, the unwanted fat  located in the subcutaneous tissue will be precisely suctioned with the help of thin cannulas.

Lasting results.

The results we attain with liposuction are permanent. The reason for this is that the body does not produce new fat cells after puberty. If you’re wondering now why you have still gained weight it’s not because of new fat cells but because of old ones that balloon up and get bigger. A liposuction reduces the amount of fat cells forever and thus sharpens the body contour. Especially in the area of the thighs this fact produces  positive side effect: Although liposuction is no treatment against cellulite, some patients report that their cellulite was visibly reduced.

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. We use only absorbable products therefore the effect is temporary but mainly last for one year or a bit more. Some people may need more than one injection to achieve the wrinkle-smoothing effect.
